Thinking about Keys

Is there an anomaly at hand for us to ponder?

Why are typewriter, computer, and piano keys called "keys"?

We use a key to unlock a door or a secret drawer.
We use a key to start our cars.

I've heard tell that
a key can open a heart to love.

Sometimes we're given a key to help us solve a puzzle.

Ah yes, puzzles! My late husband had great pleasure in solving the
crossword puzzle in the New York Time's Sunday newspaper.

I am still amazed that he solved the puzzle, so easily.

His skill allowed him to write his answers into place
with a ballpoint pen!
