Life and lives interest me. I am surprised that I continue to learn new truths about my own life and the person I am.
As my family and friends know, a beagle, Sammy, lives with me. I enjoy him as a companion, but at times he tends to be a trifle annoying. Of course, he wants my attention. I must remember that a companion, even a four-legged one, as Sammy, deserves to have my full attention for some of the time.
TYPING AWAY
A person who might see me through the window, or see my light, might say, "There she is, that "two-fingered" typist, busy, as usual, so dedicated to writing, she seems drawn to do. "
Outsiders might not know that when I write, it isn't all work. Play and fun are always present, too.
Writing, sometimes, teaches me about myself. Today, I was surprised to learn, that as I type along, my mind says each word.
A SONG
My thought, at this moment, isn't on the typing at hand. An "old time" song has just come into my thought. I don't know why my mind would interrupt its thinking to remember an old song. It must be playtime.
My mind began to sing a song that Google said, belonged, once, to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in a romantic movie. Fred, in the 1935, story, after predicaments that came along, eventually, married his love. (Google tells the story)
In the movie Fred sings, a song that, as I said, had just come into my mind: The words say: "I'm going to pick myself up, dust myself off, and start all over again." As my mind sang that song, my left foot and then my right foot, under the computer desk, caught the rhythm, and tapped away. My heels joined in. It's strange that my feet could dance with such rhythm here, at the computer, and were not so competent on a dance floor.
THE TIME NOW: After Lunch, and A Trip to the Tax Office
I'm back to enjoy and finish my serious and fun time at the computer. The parody of a second song has now come into my mind. It's sung to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne." The regular lyrics say, "Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind." (Repeat) The parody, however, gives advice for "our safety around mules. "
The words of the parody say:
"On mules we find two legs behind and two, we find before.
We stand behind the two behind, and we find what those be for....
When we're behind, the two behind, we find what those be for,
so stand before the two behind, and behind the two before! "
(Google didn't seem to be familiar with this fun song)
No doubt my Provider of thoughts, (serious and light-hearted) knows that I'm working for my blog but enjoy playing, too.
I am grateful that both activities bring me refreshment and joy.
