I can't remain sad for my brother who has passed on. Mahlon had enjoyed life and his work as a decorator, a gardener, a creator of greeting cards. After retirement, he became part of the staff at a book store.
Mahlon enjoyed books. He enjoyed people. He also found joy in his days. Over the years, a number of people (even a gardener from England) visited the extensive gardens Mahlon and Bob developed. Their state, I believe, developed the pond on their property. A variety of wild life continues to frequent the pond, and daily.
Visual memories are said to last as long as we live. I have good memories of Mahlon. I have photographs, too. Pictures bring a pleasure of their own. Memories, photos, and life are blessings, and make us glad.

A POST SCRIPT AND BLESSING
I enjoyed reading a book that my brother Mahlon sent me. The book's title is "Crossing the Unknown Sea: Work as a Pilgrimage of Identity." The author is David Whyte. What a surprise the book held for me. In the book the author tells of a friend who is coming to visit. I had just met that friend, Brother David, Steindl-Rast! I met Brother David at a holiday gathering, and enjoyed talking with him.
Brother David Steindl-Rast has developed a wonderful site: www.Gratefulness.org
(I discovered, today, that, on the Gratefulness site, there is a page that tells more about Brother David. and even includes sermons of his. I plan to return soon to that site, and no doubt, today!
