Hope is Eternal

Hope cannot be lost,
because hope
is a spiritual quality
and is eternal.

Only that which is
material
can be lost.

Things are
material
and can be lost.

A thought
came to me
that now,
I realize,
is untrue.

A thought
proclaimed
that
hope is similar to
a fishing bobber,
and sometmes
appears lost!
Then hope
resurfaces,
and once again,
is found
within us.

Truth
proclaims that
the hope we have,
the good that is ours,
and the spiritual
reality of our lives,
remain,
forever intact,
in place,
unchanged.

Only in us
does that Truth
become
clouded
perhaps, with tears
or unbelief.

For a moment
we lose sight
of
the constancy
of the Spirit
that is life and
always with us.

Soon our tears dry
and the Light that
is love
pushes aside
the darkness!
Then our heart knows
again its song.

The Light of Understanding

The Light that is
Understanding
cannot be
diminished
or extinguished.
The Source
of Understanding
is beyond all
that is temporal.

Words can be written,
and words can be lost.
The Truth
behind the words
remains.

In the presence
of Truth,
all will know
again the
solace and love
of
life’s everpresent
Shepherd.
