I come to you today, God, to worship you, our Creator. I, of the earth, stand with others, in awe of the universe we live in. The order of the sun, the moon, the stars, and the planets, that you have created, fills us with wonder.
We, of the earth, have no power over the change of the seasons, That change is in your control, God. Because you provide for the earth's constancy of movement around the sun, seeds and buds are now opening. In due time, a harvest will follow. The full-headed grain you grow will provide our bread.
There are other blessings we would name. It is you, God who brings the day and wakes us. It is you who brings the night so we have the refreshment of sleep .
You bless us with so many gifts : people to share our lives with, the touch of someone’s hand on ours, faces, and eyes and smiles, colors and words, a baby finding language, our knowing how to shape our mouths to make a song.
How comforting it is to know that when we meet up with anguish or sorrow, you, God, know of our need. Even if we do not call out, Your presence steadies us and guides us to healing and wholeness.
What may I give you? Here is my grateful heart, and my song of joy!
