A Song in my Heart

Sunshine, today, has called forth singing in me. I find it a small wonder that so many songs come into my mind. During the night, new snow fell and has mounted up outside of my window. Inside, I can enjoy the beauty and the sparkle of the snow, and have no shivers. Children, on their way to school, seem to revel in the snow. The cold and snow seem not to hamper crows, or squirrels in their search for daily food.

As I see the sun and accept the gift of a new day, my heart bursts into song, but silently. I am always pleased, and surprised, that as I sing, and with no audible sound, I hear the music inside of me.

"I sing because I'm happy.
I sing because I'm free.
For His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me!"

After awhile, I'll trek over to Google and see who has given us the words to the song above, and who wrote the music. A joyful song and its words remind me that the Creator of all, is impartial toward all. We and Nature's children receive identical shares of the gifts that are bestowed. We all have received a new day in which to live, breath to keep us alive, ideas to pursue, and direction!

I sat down to write on a different topic that had come to my mind, but my heart said, "Sing first."
