I am grateful for thought, and for thoughts that come into my mind.
God woke me this morning with the thought that an essential element that keeps us alive, we cannot provide for ourselves.
Nonetheless, and often, without thankfulness, we rely on the presence of this gift.
We expect children to take life for granted and not as a gift, but should we do that,as well?
Sometime, as the hymn writer has written, shouldn't we
"Count our blessings... and see what God has done?"
At birth, the Creator gives each creation the breath of life and supplies a further sufficiency of air, for as long as a life needs it.
Let each of us, as I have now, become aware that the air we breathe, indoors and outdoors, comes to us freely and without measure from the Creator of all life. For the wonder of such a life-preserving gift that is ours, let us sing with joy!
