Peace: Come, O Come, to our world

On a particular earth day, the first day of spring,
our populace was asked,"On this day, visualize world peace."

My daughter, Jean, said, "Mother, shouldn't we try to
visualize world peace every day?""
My daughter is right,
so I'm singing today for peace to come
now and to all of the world's people.

"Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father
Brothers all are we.(and sisters)
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me.
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take
Let this be my solemn vow:
To take each moment
And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me.

Also, for the world, and for all of its people,
I am singing a song we sang in Girl Scouts.

"Every man 'neath his vine and fig tree,
shall live in peace and unafraid.
And into plowshares beat their swords.
Nations shall learn war no more!"

Years back, from an Almanac,
I copied this statement

Ah! When shall all men's good
Be each man's rule, and universal peace
Lie like a shaft of light across the land?
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

May we bring peace into
our homes, as well.

Where we love is home
Home that our feet may leave,
but not our hearts.
Oliver Wendell Holmes
